Corks...it's been absolutely forever since I've been on here. My apologies to everyone who's commented/updated/otherwise done something I should be aware of. I'm going to try to get myself up to date over the weekend.
I don't really have a good excuse for vanishing...work, school, the usual stuff. My creativity's been drained lately too...I've had an amazing amount of work to do for my creative writing class, so most of my energies have been going into surviving that ordeal.
Other than that...well there's actually been a lot going on. I'm finally doing some design work for my job...John and Ezio were impressed with my portfolio. Although I feel like I slighted myself...I'm happy to be designing, but I was hoping for a raise...there's no way I should be designing websites for what I'm making right now.
I may end up working two jobs over the summer...I'll keep this one, of course, but I might start working for Significa (the company next door) as well. I was helping Robyn with some things yesterday (another slow day in our office), and Tai said that I should come work for them as well. We'll see what kind of hours I can get at Digital Zone before I start grubbing for another job...
Classes are over in two weeks, thank God. I've got my fingers crossed that I'll squeak through on my statistics class...I'm horrible at math.
I think I'll go through my ninety-something updates now. ><;;
I just went onto corbis and typed in 'bird flight nobody' as my search query. Nothing complicated about that...I want birds flying without any pesky people in the photograph.
Ooh, a graphic designer/web developer. Don't see too many around here specialising in just those areas. From your first submission you seem to know what you're doing too
Really, I want to get started in a web design job, since I do it as a hobby. But too bad the area i'm in there isn't really many places to get started.
I can sympathize...I work at the only professional web development firm in the area. There's a few other places who dabble in it, but they're mostly Frontpage users and people with a trial version of Paint Shop Pro or something hokey like that. ><;;
I wish you luck in your search though...you might be fortunate like I was. :)
Thanks =) and damn they really have places that are using frontpage and trial paint shop pro . Frontpage is the worst thing to use, notepad (or similar) all the way XP
I know...someone should burn them down; put them out of their misery. xP
I always do my hardcoding in notepad...unfortunately, I've gotten used to making updates in Dreamweaver simply because it's faster, but it's pretty good program, so I'll allow myself a little bit of slack.
Heh yeah, I used dreamweaver before, it was great in terms of organisation, but I found the program was too bulky for me, and it also took a while to load up on my comp.
I actually use a program called ConTEXT, it's a free notepad alternative suited to programmers, which has the ability to use filters, these premade filters can color code the document so it's kinda like using Dreamweaver or frontpage, except it's just a notepad.
Hehe, yep, I wouldn't use anything else, it does come with a few filters. But if you're using PHP and HTML, like I do most of the time it's best to get the Total PHP filter off the site, it can color code PHP and HTML at the same time.
I'm afraid I don't use much PHP...I dabble in it, but programming and I have never been the best of friends. >< I should learn it though, so that could be very handy to have.
Oh I'm sure it does...I'm constantly having to muddle through programming at work for oscommerce sites and the like. I know a bit of C , so I understand PHP and JavaScript and the like to a certain extent, but I've still managed to whomp up quite a few parse errors ><
Heh, yeah parse errors are annoying, but you'll find most of the time it's from not ending something, such as a quotation or forgetting to put a ; at the end of each line.
